Gradient Nail Art for New Years

Why create art just on paper, or on the computer?  Try your nails!  Well, in this case, it's only a gradient.  I used a white under layer and a gold for the top.  Use make up sponges to dab the gold on a little at a time and it works out well.  I recommend practicing on a piece of paper first because it takes time to get the gradient right.  Also, this is one way to use up some nail polish.  It really does take a lot of it.

Enjoy the rest of 2011!

p.s. i hope to get back to making costume jewelry.  Hopefully, I'll put one of those up soon.

Halloween Nail Art!!

I've been wanting to paint my nails something festive for Halloween and I have decided on those spooky/scared eyes.  I'm quite happy with the outcome. :)

Pretty simple to do.  Especially since I only did my thumbs.
I might go back and add something to the rest.

The colors/brands I used were: Midnight Satin (Milani, a few coats) for the main part of the nail,
Steel-her Heart (Revlon) for the pupils.. only a dot is needed,
white nail art pen for the oval shapes
and of course a base and top coat.

For the white part, I made sure to keep the bottom as flat as possible.
So, it is not a true oval.
One tip to getting your nail art looking the way you'd like it to try to draw it out first on a paper with a pen.  Get a feel for the shapes you want.  Then, when you are ready, use a steady hand and slowly draw in the shapes on your nail.
Nail art pens work amazingly.  Or maybe a tooth pick? Hmm.

Edit 10/26/11: I have decided to add words to the rest of my nails! I know, I'm excited, too. :)

Hope you like!
